Hello,

Please help us to raise funds so we can continue our mission, which is to simply have

a safe, clean, fun environment for you and your dog to socialize. We also try to

educate the public on laws, regulations, tips, tricks and recalls regarding dogs.

We are a very small volunteer group that beautifies and maintains the dog park inside

of Wolfe's Pond Park, SI, NY.  We've come a long way since  being washed away from

Hurricane Sandy, over $200,000 in grants and a new design and would like nothing

more to continuously improve our park for the sole benefit of your dog.

We've raised over $5000 on our own to go back into the park, with a shed, new tables

and a memorial wall for  those fur babies who have passed and spent a good quality of

their lives at the dog park.

We are in need of your help. We are in the middle of a legal battle, a nonsense one,

but one anyway. I've asked many people for help,  phone calls, emails, left messages

with political figures. This of course after The New York City Parks Dpet.  said to find

my own legal advisor. I've got no answers. We are on our own!!! As ridiculous as it

sounds a VOLUNTEER GROUP working for the city needs to raise their own money

for a lawsuit.

The lawsuit is a dog bite that occurred inside the dog run, which we have no control

over. Ever. We wish we could say who can come in and who can't, trust me, but we

can't

Please find it in your hearts of hearts to help us keep up our mission. We do not have

the funds to pay for this, I've already put out $1000 to start the legal process. Whether

we are found liable or not being represented costs lots of money we don't have. Please

help us raise the money needed, all money that is extra or over the amount listed will

go back into our bank account, we are a registered 501(c)3 org.

We have set up a Go Fund Me page to accept donations. You

Summer Fun Dog Wash  A hit With the Pooches

Picture
We had a great turnout for our First Annual Summer fun Dog Wash. We like to

thank those who attended our event and those who were part of our festivities

All of you showed great support for our dogs, our dog run and our association.

Special thanks goes out to Danny Avissato and Joe Velez of Pet Oasis for their

support and generous donation. The same goes for Debbie DeLuca for

her outrageous snow cones and her generous donation too. Kudos to Doreen

Lindstrom, this was her brain child and boy it was a smashing success.

Thanks again Gus McCarthey, Donna Imparato Sayers, Carol Satler and Isabelle Stassi for your time and effort in

getting this event launched and keeping it afloat. Thanks also to our volunteer dog washers for their dauntless

efforts, without them it would have surely been a washout. Most of all, thank you for attending our dog wash and

supporting us, buying 50/50 raffles, basket chances, donating towels, items for raffle and also with your generous

donations Thank you again, we made almost $1300.00 and even after expenses we will still net about $1000.00.

We  will now be able to purchase our storage shed and be closer to our goal for a shelter.

We all thank you for generous support.

WPP Dog Run Photo Update

Below are the most recent Photos Of the work in progress at the dog run.  All the perimeter and small dog run fences are in. The gates, grading and the path to the small dog run still need to be completed. You got to say all this progress is really promising, so stay in touch for more updates.
I forgot to mention, the water source will be located in the dog run near the maintenance gate, you can see the white pvc pipe in some of the photos.

It's about time we have some good news

Major reconstruction is now back underway at Wolfe's Pond Park and our Dog Run. New perimeter fencing is now being installed and beach cleanup has begun in earnest. For those of you who don't know, we have gained 30 feet of width on the entire west side of the dog run. this gives our canine pals more room to stretch their legs.Lets hope this reconstruction is completed in a timely manner and we are back in our park again.
Below are photos of the reconstruction in progress, we will post updates as they become available.

Hurricane Sandy's Aftermath

As you know Hurricane Sandy has had a devastating effect on Staten island, below are photos most have not seen. It is Sandy's aftermath on Wolfe's Pond Park beach and dog run. The storm has definitely changed the coastline of the Wolfe's Pond Park beach.

Who we are

Wolfe's Pond Pooches Inc. is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that works in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a safe and friendly environment for your canine companion.  We are incorporated since October of 2008 and received our 501(c)3 status in July of 2011.

What we do

We are a group of volunteers who help maintain and improve our dog run.  Our goal is to provide a clean safe place for our canine companions and their owners to socialize with one another in an off leash area.  Our objective is to provide exercise and socialization for your dog without disturbing people, property and wildlife. The run is divided into two parts, one for all dogs and the other for our smaller dogs and puppies only that are under 25 pounds.
